Plenary by David Crystal

Who would of thought it?  The English Language 1966 - 2016

Watching David Crystal live online was fascinating. He is a wonderful presenter.  His talk was about changes in the language in the last 50 years around vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation. It was about the relationship between old and new, top-down and bottom-up, and how teachers need to navigate a path between the relative inflexibility of the established written published word and the ever changing digital landscape of today and tomorrow.

These are my notes.
